Join Caterpillar Marine Power Systems for a factory led and organized three-day engine class. Your hands-on training will teach you about the operation, maintenance, and efficient use of your engines. This class is specifically designed for owners and crew of C32 ACERT™ through C7 ACERT powered pleasure craft. The Captain's Class combines test cell sessions with class instruction to enhance comprehension and to help you get the most out of your time. This is not your average classroom experience. You'll receive your lessons at the beautiful Miami Skills Acquisition Center, then apply them on a real 3412E propulsion engine, Twin Disc QuickShift® Transmission, and dynamometer!

At Caterpillar, you always learn from the experts. Your instructors include Blaine Thorpe, a Caterpillar factory electronics expert who was formerly a Marine customer services manager, Coast Guard OUPV captain, and owner of a Cat® powered boat; and Victor Garcia, previously a product support representative, who is the designer and current operator of the training test cell. Captains Class / Customer Letter of Recomendation

Dear Marc:

Last week I participated in the CAT Captain's Class at your training facility in Miami. The 3 day program was excellent and surpassed my expectations. I am an owner/operator who, along with my wife, currently operate a 58' Symbol Pilothouse motor yacht and we have a 70' Outer Reef on order for delivery before the end of this year. We are long distance cruisers and both of us are USCG 100 ton Masters.

In preparation for the new boat, I wanted to improve my basic skills on marine diesel maintenance, especially since I specified the same CAT C-12 engines for the new boat that are on our Symbol. Your Captain's Class, with Blaine as our instructor, exceeded my expectations in all areas. Specifically, I have a much better appreciation for the safe operation of my engines and how to properly maintain the oil, fuel, cooling, and electrical systems. As important, I gained insight into the early diagnosis of problems that could interfere with our travels offshore.

I highly recommend the Captain's Class for anyone who wants to better understand their marine diesel engine.
